At Blue Orchids Cleaning, we’ve spent over 12 years transforming homes with detailed, purpose-driven deep cleaning. And if there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s this:
Most people make the same cleaning mistakes without even realizing it.
Here are the most common ones—and more importantly, how to avoid them:
That “multi-purpose” rag might be spreading more dirt than it removes.
✔️ Pro tip: Use separate cloths for each area (kitchen, bathroom, etc.), and wash them regularly.
Most cleaners need a few minutes to work properly.
✔️ What to do: Spray, wait 1–3 minutes, then wipe. Give the product time to disinfect and break down grime.
If you sweep the floor first, then dust the shelves… you’ll have to sweep again.
✔️ Golden rule: Always clean from top to bottom—start with ceiling fans, shelves, and end with the floor.
More product ≠ better results. Overuse can leave sticky residue that attracts more dirt.
✔️ Tip: Follow label instructions or use spray bottles with measured doses.
Brushes, sponges, and mops collect bacteria and odors too.
✔️ Solution: Wash and disinfect your tools after each use.
Behind the toilet, under the sofa, between the cushions…
Those “out of sight” areas collect dust, grease, and bacteria.
✔️ Recommendation: Do a deep clean every 4 to 6 weeks to tackle hidden grime.
